Description
A white solid that is the potassium salt of benzoic acid. It inhibits the growth of mold, yeast and some bacteria. Uses: A food preservative in fruit juice, sparkling drinks, soft drinks, and pickles, and as the whistle sound in many fireworks. CAS# (582-25-2)
