Description

Methanol is a light, volatile, colorless, flammable, toxic liquid with a distinctive odor and is similar in taste to ethanol. It is also known as methyl alcohol, carbinol, wood alcohol, wood naphtha, or wood spirits. Uses: As an antifreeze, solvent, fuel, denaturant for ethaol, in producing bio-diesel via transesterification, in producing other chemicals, in wastewater treatment plants as a food source for the denitifying bacteria used in wastwater wells.
