Description
Glycerine is a chemical compound commonly known as glycerol. It is a colorless, odorless, sweet-tasting, viscous liquid. It is soluble in water and hygroscopic. Uses: In food and beverages as a humectant, solvent, sweetener, sugar substitute, food preserver, and thickening agent in liqueurs, as a raw material of polyols, to produce nitroglycerin, to manufacture mono- and di-glycerides, in pharmaceuticals and medicines such as cough syrups, elixirs, expectorants, toothpaste, mouthwashes, skin care products, shaving cream, hair products, soaps, and water based personal lubricants.
