Description
Triethylamine is a clear, colorless liquid with a strong, ammonia-like odor. It is stable under ordinary conditions though it is strongly alkaline and will undergo strong exothermic reactions with acids to form amine salts. Uses: As a catalytic solvent in chemical synthesis, an accelerator activator for rubber, corrosion inhibitor, curing and hardening agent for polymers, propellant, in the manufacture of wetting, penetrating, and waterproofing agents or quarternary ammonium compounds, and in the desalination of water.
