Description

Tertiary Butyl Acetate (TBAc) is a VOC-exempt solvent with a broad solvency range; intermediate evaporation rate (almost 3x’s faster than NButA); low density and a flash point; versatile oxygenated solvent offering a unique physical property profile.

TBAc solvent can be used alone or in solvent blends in applications including:

  • Solvent-borne Industrial Coatings: Especially in the following applications: Acrylic polyols, thermoplastic substrate, alkyd resins, modified alkyd resin, nitro-cotton, polyurethane, isocyanate, nitrocellulose, chlorinated resin, styrene resins.
  • Paints: Improves product performance and reduces environmental impact as a solvent in automotive refinishing paint, wood paint and quick dry enamels, 2K polyurethane varnish paints, thinners.
  • Printing Ink: Can reduce the printing viscosity, increase print density and gloss by replacing esters, alcohols, and ketones in ink products.
  • Industrial Cleaning: Industrial machinery, precision equipment, paint gun cleanup.
