Propylene Glycol Industrial

A clear, colorless, viscous liquid that is used in a variety of applications. Also known as 1,2-propanediol, 1,2-Dihydroxypropan. See Propylene Glycol USP or PG USP.

Description

A clear, colorless, viscous liquid with a faintly sweet smell. Is hygroscopic and miscible with water, acetone, and chloroform. Uses: As a moisturizer, solvent, humectant, cooling agent for beer and wine, carrier in fragrance oils, antifreeze, photographic chemical solvent, in smoke machines to produce artificial smoke, in cryonics, to treat livestock ketosis, main ingredient in deodorant sticks, aircraft deicer, and in UV blacklight tattoo ink.
