Description

The acrylate ion is the ion of acrylic acid. Acrylates are the salts and esters of acrylic acid. Acrylates contain vinyl groups, two carbon atoms double bonded to each other, directly attached to the carbonyl carbon. Uses: As a monomer in polymer plastics, as chemical intermediaries, in plasticizers, and in the manufacturing of textiles.
